About the Lisa Lin Foundation

The Lisa Lin Foundation is the premiere Texas non-profit supporting excellence in teaching, scholarship, and research in the fields of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). A non-profit 501 (c ) 3 organization named in honor of the founder of the first and only school of TCM in Texas, the Lisa Lin Foundation is funded entirely by the tax-deductible contributions of its many generous donors. All funds donated are applied directly to the donor's intended recipient project.

What does the Lisa Lin Foundation Do?
The Foundation collects donations from a wide range of generous benefactors and directs these funds toward projects to benefit students, scholars, and the general public in their knowledge of research into TCM and culture. The primary focus of the Foundation’s efforts has been in support of outstanding students and scholars of TCM. Recently, however, in response to donor requests, the Foundation has begun to build a pool of funds to support scholarly and scientific research in the fields of acupuncture and TCM.

What does the Lisa Lin Foundation do with donations?
The Foundation is run entirely by volunteers, who donate their time, talents, and money to support the important work of the Foundation. With no overhead and no operational costs, the Foundation is able to ensure that donations go directly to their intended recipients, thus providing donors with the greatest return on their tax-deductible giving. Donations can be marked to support student scholarships, teaching awards, and a range of research projects.

More about the scholarships
Paid directly to the student, these funds help to defray educational expenses associated with attending TCTCM, and thus help students overcome one of the major obstacles to educational success. Scholarships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified applicants enrolled in TCTCM. As more funds become available, more eligible students will be able to receive this valuable assistance.

More about the teaching awards
At the suggestion of a number of benefactors, the Foundation instituted a series of annual awards marking the individual achievements and success of the nationally-recognized faculty of TCTCM. With emphasis placed on the ongoing professional and scholarly development of the College's faculty, these prizes allow the Foundation to recognize and encourage academic and scholarly excellence at all levels.
